The Red Cloak Series of oil paintings portrays an array of deep spiritual needs and emotional responses of this lone female in various environments and circumstances. She is never without her cloak and her face cannot be seen.  The better for you to interject yourself into the scene and respond to the emotions that are rising as each viewer is invited into each of the paintings to see which one or ones resonate with them, either now or in their past.  In other words what experience in your life can you see portrayed in these provocative Red Cloak Woman? In doing so, are you experiencing any unresolve painful emotions or do you now have peace?  Red is the chosen color of the cloak, for it most times symbolizes power, and the cloak offers protection, an older outer layer of clothing not referred to in this day and age.

Which brings to mind, what in this world now adays that can give you the power and protection along with peace and joy? This is the intent behind each of these paintings in my Red Cloak series to help with the spiritual needs of women and in the care of their emotional turmoil that may still reside in them, they need to know about the restoration and righteousness that only Jesus Christ can provide.. The cloak represents the covering of our sins by our savior Jesus Christ and the red represents the blood of Jesus as He died to save us all from our sins. However, in the humanness of being a woman, we can be caught off guard, drawn away from God and make wrong choices, all the while sensing all the forces of good and evil in this world. In coming back to who we are in Christ, women will re-evaluate their relationships and it must be acknowledged that the One true love is God. He is the only one who gives us our cloak of protection and solid ground of Jesus to rely on! The Red Cloak passageway paintings hold a special place in my heart. Not just for my own circumstances and ordeals, but for the hope that these artworks will reach and open women's hearts to the healing help of our Lord in any and all levels of spiritual, emotional, even physical needs. Ultimately, I hope to see women being infused with God's power of healing and transformation, how this happens remains a mystery. With God, he can do all things and yes, there are so many testimonies of God's interference and His saving grace, that we can only gasp and say that was a miracle, that was God's doing!

This series highlights the beauty of God’s creation, inspiring gratitude and reverence for His endless wonders while glorifying Him. I find joy in painting these landscapes, each lit by a radiant light. To me, this light symbolizes Jesus, the ultimate Light, encouraging us to see His brilliance and reflect it so others can experience His light through us. Woven like a tapestry are words and scripture for reflection, revealing God’s truth in all His splendor and glory.
